Before entering executive recruiting, John worked as a chemical engineer and engineering manager and later advanced into corporate executive leadership. His experience includes vice-president-level responsibilities, international business development, and startup work.

For approximately 33 years, John has operated an executive recruiting business. His work has included senior leadership searches and candidate advising in manufacturing, forest products, lumber, plywood, building materials, engineering, plant operations, maintenance, production, industrial sales, general management, finance, and executive leadership.

That combination gives John a useful vantage point. He understands the experience of leading inside industrial and continuous-process environments, including petroleum, refining, and petrochemical settings. He also understands how employers evaluate senior candidates—and where even qualified leaders can struggle to communicate their value or judge an opportunity clearly.

John has firsthand experience preparing senior candidates for interviews, helping them evaluate opportunities, discussing compensation and relocation realities, and advising people through difficult career transitions.
